Angels "have no interest" in Percival
According to the LA Times, the Angels do not have any interest in signing former closer Troy Percival.
The Angels have no interest in signing former closer Troy Percival, General Manager Bill Stoneman said Tuesday. While signing Percival would be a risk, I would certainly prefer to have him in the bullpen than Darren Oliver. If the Angels don't want him, though, the Tigers are apparently interested. He could possibly take the set-up job there, while he would likely be only a middle reliever here.
"With the strength of our pen — we have as strong if not stronger a pen than when we did not ask him back — I think that's probably out," Stoneman said. "To think we're looking for help for the bullpen, that's not where our priorities are at."
In other news, Scioscia says Anderson will not be a full-time DH when he returns from the DL. The article does not clearly state who will play DH when G.A. doesn't, and where Willits will end up playing.
The same article also states that rumors of the Angels possibly trading Figgy and Molina to the Yankees for Jason Gilbert Giambi are false.
